#95 -- Wet Hare

Title - Wet Hare
Director - Bob McKimson
Released - 1962

Interesting Fact -- Last cartoon to feature Blacque Jacque Shellacque.

Reason for Placement --

When not outwitting Daffy, Elmer, Sam, or Wile E., Bugs Bunny faced a large number of villains, most of which would only get one cartoon, two tops.  Blacque Jacque Shellacque was one of those few villains that, while only appearing in two shorts, really seemed to make an impact.  In his second (and last) toon, Jacque tries to dam up a river and, incidentally, cuts off Bugs' water supply.  Of course you know, this means war.

What I always loved about Wet Hare was the pacing and build-up of the gags.  Each time Bugs managed to destroy one of Jacque's dams, he would build a stronger one, to which we all wondered, "So, Bugs, how are you going to take care of this one?"  And when it came to Jacque, the bigger the dam, the harder he fell.
